Overview

The Boone Fire Department proudly protects an area of 40.5 square miles. We operate from three stations to protect the Town of Boone and a Rural Fire Service District surrounding the town. Boone FireBoone Fire Patch Department is a combination department consisting of 28 career and 18 volunteers. Our ISO (Insurance Service Office) rating is 2 inside the city limits and a protection class 3 within 5 miles of a station.

Mission Statement

The Fire Department's mission is to minimize the risk of fire and other hazards to the life and property of the residents of the town. To accomplish this mission, the Department shall provide effective fire prevention, rescue, fire suppression, fire investigation, and arson mitigation.

Emergency Fest

May 20th in the Peacock Parking Lot (416 Rivers Street), the Town of Boone's Fire Department, in partnership with Watauga County Firefighters Association, Boone Area Emergency Services, and New River Tire, are hosting this year's Emergency Fest!

A totally free festival, Emergency Fest has something for everyone. A bounce house, scavenger hunts, and more are available for children of all ages. Additionally, a children's bike safety course, live fire safety and law enforcement demonstrations, and other educational activities will be hosted as well.
